WESTERN INFLUENCE

In the midst of so much corruption, poverty, hopelessness, misery, suffering among other vices, we as Nigerians still focus on things that have no bearing in our lives. Why is that Nigerians carry on as if all is well with our country? Or maybe they don't just care. As a people we get easily influenced by other cultures, it is visible by the way we dress, our entertainment, lifestyle etc. At the moment, the rave is reality television. We have gradually caught the reality television bug; forgetting that such things cannot work in our society. Agreed we have to work a little and play a little, but if we are going to play, we must at least work first. And when we play, we should try to play and relax the Nigerian/African way. We must start taking a more active interest in issues that bother on our growth, development and progress as a nation. For instance, get involved in you neighborhood and resident association and get involved in your local government affairs. Democracy is not an end, but a means to an end. Cultural influence is not a bad thing, but it shouldn't steal your No 1. identity which is Nigerian/African.

PENSION THIEF RE-ARRESTED

Barely 72 hours after he walked out of court a free man, courtesy the Judgement of Justice Talba of an FCT HIGH COURT, Mr. John  Yakubu Yusuf, was re-arrested by the EFCC. He is to be re-arraingened to face fresh charges. Mr. John Yakubu Yusuf was arraigned for stealing N27 Billion, but in what has been tagged by many groups and Nigerians as a travesty of Justice, Mr John was sentenced to two years imprisonment, with an option of fine (N250,000.00 for each of the three counts, amounting to N750,000.00). He gladly took the option of fine. It is evident that the war against corruption in Nigeria is a big joke. This is the same country, where people are languishing in jail awaiting trial for lesser crimes, and many of whom have stayed beyond the terms of the alleged crimes if they had been convicted.

LAMIDO: GOVERNMENT MAGIC!

This people in Government must really think Nigerians are really stupid and as such treat us with disdain and contempt. If not how can one explain the drama currently unfolding on the issue of his son money laundering case.
The other day it was that the Judges were in a conference and yesterday the story was that the Judge that the matter was assigned to was not on seat.

CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA

It is a known fact that today in Nigeria, corruption is one of the biggest problems we face in Nigeria. It is no secrete that our leaders are corrupt. But the story does not end there; let us truly reflect and ask our selves this fundamental question? Is it only our leaders that are corrupt, what of we the people; are we any better?

Let us all endeavour to make Nigeria great.
Unity and Faith, Peace and Progress.

WHO GO BLINK FIRST: BABA IYABO OR EBELE?

In recent times the news has been awash with stories of the rift between Chief Matthew Olusegun Obasanjo and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. The climax of this battle at the moment is the sacking of Olagunsoye Oyinlola (an Obasanjo man) by Bamanga Tukur (a Jonathan man).
The major reason behind this rift is no doubt the 2015 elections. The million dollar question is this: who is going to bow first?

FIRE, FIRE IN OUR KONTRI

KontriPipu, what is happening in our kontri? Not a day goes by that we do not get one report or the other about fire. The latest ones were in Ikeja City Mall yesterday, thank God disaster was averted as no lives were lost and the damage was not much.  Also, the office of the Chief of Godogodo in Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State was yesterday by fire.
Please as we have been saying be safety conscious and endeavour to improve on your knowledge on safety.
