It is not news that the issue of constitutional amendment and state creation is ongoing. The news is flooded with stories of requests for the creation of more states, amendment retreats and proposals, positions and counter-positions on issues for amendment.
What is worrying is the fact that we have not been carried along and as such the quality of the process that would give rise to an amended constitution is in doubt. the so-called 'public hearings' are not public as the number of people that attend the hearings leave much to be desired.
If we are to avoid the pitfalls of the past, KontriMan, must as a matter of urgency get involved in the process and start making inputs into the process and respond to issues in public discourse. KontriMan can write a position paper to his representatives in the House of Assembly, and in the National Assembly and also call for a referendum.
We must start using public platforms like this to discuss issues. Therefore, you are urged to make contributions to this piece, maybe we just might make them listen to us.
