Only in Nigeria would the Federal Government spend over 9 billionNaira annually on the presidential air fleet while poverty reigns supreme in
the land.
The presidential air fleet is the third largest in the
country, having more aircrafts than most commercial airlines in the country.
Findings showed that Nigeria was one of the very few countries
that possess a large collection of aircrafts in their fleet.
Most other (and surprisingly, more advanced) countries operate two, or at most three aircrafts in their presidential fleet. Japan, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom are in this category. Even with the three aircrafts being maintained by the Royal Squadron of the Royal Air Force, the British Royal Family and its ruling government officials most times fly British Airways.

It is surprising but heart-sinking that Nigeria, with all the
poverty that bites aggressively in the land, the presidential fleet of
airplanes now boasts of ten aircrafts, while the people don’t have keke (tricycles) to their names and cannot
even ride the motorcycles they manage to acquire, to make ends meet, with peace
of mind. And then, at one point or the other, amidst all these affluence, when
the rulers are called upon to provide the ruled with legitimate and basic
amenities of life that ensures existence, the Federal Government, with the Minister
of Finance, and the Coordinating Minister of the Economy, as its spokesperson,
would come out with a wide-open mouth to say that Nigeria is broke. How ridiculous!
ONLY IN NIGERIA!
Is very possible in the era of madness and stupidity. Is there any correlation in what this woman is saying if she is not suffering from brain disorder? We should start talking now so that this woman won't put us in more problems because these people don't know what they are doing.
ReplyDeleteits sad that we have continued to get it wrong in this country.
