AN INCOMPETENT MEDIA

We forget a lot as a people. We easily forget things. Events happen, issues come up, we talk and hover on them for a while and that is it, we are done. We do not follow up matters. We do not learn from our mistakes.
That is one of the reason why we are where we are. That is why we keep suffering from the same things over and over again. That is one of the reasons why we do not move forward.
What is worse? Our media is not helpful. We hardly have follow-ups of matters/issues requiring follow-ups. Our media organisations are always on to the next event, the next matter, without giving adequate attention to matters that require follow-up.
This is definitely a gross incompetence. And it is not like they are actually very good at getting the newest or most recent news. That’s why we sometimes get breaking news from foreign media before we get them from our own media. It’s a shame.
What’s the latest on MAULAG? What’s the latest on Aluu 4? What’s the story with the Iju plane crash? What’s the story on Ribadu’s subsidy report? What’s the latest on Lamido’s son?
Our media needs to help the Nigerian populace to remember things that need to be remembered, so that we can learn from our mistakes and become better from them. Or should it be the other way around? Should it be the Nigerian populace that needs to do the demanding and keep the media organisations on their feet?
