NIGERIAN TIME OR AFRICAN TIME?

Why is it that we do not keep to time in everything we do in Nigeria? Why must we as Nigerians always be behind time?
Why must we always be late for appointments and start events behind schedule?
And when asked, we say, "oh that is the way things work here, it is Nigerian time". And some even say "it is African time".
Who made one time "Nigerian", another "African", and yet another "American" or "European" or "Asian"? Is it not the same time we all have, but some just manage and respect it more than others? Is it even the case that Africans generally do not keep to time? Or it is just a fallacy, an excuse that we put up to defend our unethical attitude?
Is it deliberate that we do not keep time, or is it our lackadaisical attitude that makes us not respect time? Has it always been a part of our culture from inception not to keep to time? Or is it that it has become part of our psyche as a people not to keep to time; that most of us, even those who should set the standards, fail to keep time?
KontriMan must realise that if we continue to disrespect and mismanage time, we would never be taken seriously.
