RISING ABOVE TRIBAL AND RELIGIOUS SENTIMENTS

It is worrisome when you go through the posts of people on websites and blogs and read the inflammatory comments on these posts of people who ordinarily should be civilised. For these category of people, stories and reports must always be analysed or interpreted from a tribal or religious perspective.

While freedom of expression is a right, we must always keep it at the back of our minds that our rights end, where the rights of others begin. Leaving the substance of issues and resorting to the attack of persons, is an indictment on the intellect of the individual. We should resist the temptation  of fanning the embers of violence and disunity.
While we agree that the there are elements who have carried out acts that have questioned the need for our continued existence, it is not conclusive evidence of the reality in Nigeria.
It has been said that the only thing necessary for evil to continue is for good men to sit down and do nothing.
In our opinion good people make up the majority of the Nigerian population and so let us make our numbers and voices count.
Or what do you think?
