WHAT IS THE TRUE STATE OF THESE FOLKS?

The release of a picture on the internet of the Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Suntai with his wife and their newly born twins has generated a lot of ripples in the polity. Questions are being asked, and accusations and counter-accusations are being made. The reality on ground remains that the people of Taraba State, in particular, and Nigeria, in general, have been kept in the dark by people who were not duly elected the people. In proper societies, once a person becomes a public official, he/she is subject to public scrutiny.

STILL ON LAMIDO’S SON

KontriMan would like to use this medium to ask the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) what is happening to the case involving the son of Sule Lamido, the Jigawa State Governor. News had it that he was trying to leave the country with an undeclared sum of about 40,000 US Dollars before he was apprehended by the EFCC. It’s been over 4 weeks since he was released on administrative bail and nothing has been heard again about the matter. Is that the way things should work? President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan accused Nigerians as being the cause of Nigeria’s problems. He said that corruption was not the cause of Nigeria’s problems but that the attitude of Nigerians was the real cause of Nigeria’s problems.
If one would go with this position, it becomes imperative for discerning minds in Nigeria to ask the question: “Who [or what] is really responsible for Nigeria’s woes, and how did we get here?” “Is it the Nigerian ruling class or the masses of Nigeria?”

OSAZE'S APOLOGY

Nigerian football like all other sectors in Nigeria is in a big mess. It is within this context that the issue of Osaze's outburst should be looked at. The Nigerian football house needs restructuring and it is only when this is done that Nigerian football would move forward. In our characteristic manner we expect too much when we have done nothing to warrant glory.
